Like everyone, normal life as I knew it changed with the lockdowns in 2020. It started out being a scary chapter, but ended up taking me somewhere I thought I would never go again... away from Nashville.
As my favorite Golden Girl used to say, "Picture it..." It was Nashville, Tennessee... a balmy August day... It started out as a one week trip to my beloved home away from home, Panama City Beach. But because of Covid, it turned into two weeks, and eventually the weeks that rolled by became months. Now, here I am, still in PCB. But you won't hear me complain! :)
Since I've been here, I have actually found myself being more productive than I was in Nashville... maybe the change of scenery gave me a fresh mindset? It helps sometimes to get out of your comfort zone and shake things up a bit.
And speaking of that, that is EXACTLY what I'm here to do!
I just released my brand new single called Battleground, and I am SO excited for you to hear what I've been working on!!!!
*A little backstory on the new song...
I recently rededicated my life to the Lord because I truly believe with all my heart that we are in the end times as prophesied in Revelation. I don't believe any of us can afford to lose our soul in order to gain this world, and I think the wisest thing any of us can do is get right with God, especially in these days we are in. I want the world to know Jesus is my Savior, my Father, my hero, my rock, my best friend, my Protector, my Comforter, my Healer, my Provider, and my everything. I am so thankful for his mercy and grace.
Most of you probably don't know, but I have been reading the Bible my entire life, since the age of 6, and have always been fascinated with Biblical end time prophecy. About a quarter of the Bible is prophecy, much of which has already been fulfilled. The entire Bible is also filled with end time prophecy! And we are currently watching these end time prophecies being fulfilled with what is going on in the world.
So, the song Battleground is about the fact that as believers we know that there is a spiritual war raging that is beyond what we can see with our natural eyes. Angels and demons battle over souls, according to the Bible. The war has already been won because Jesus defeated death on the Cross, but we fight spiritual battles in our daily lives every single day! Most people don't even realize this is happening or that they are actively participating in it.
But the Bible tells us that Jesus cast out demons and every knee must always bow to HIM alone. They have no choice because the name of Jesus is POWERFUL. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Demons are afraid of Him! So as believers in Jesus, He said we have the ability to use His name against these evil spirits! He gave us His Word as as a weapon to use against Satan and His army of demons, whose main weapon is LIES. Jesus' Word is TRUTH. Jesus said He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. His miracles and resurrection prove that He was in fact who He said He was: GOD in the flesh.
Battleground is a song about this spiritual battle that is raging, and about the tools that God has given us to be victorious in this battle! The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6 to "put on the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all to stand." We can only be victorious through HIM. And He is coming very SOON! All of the prophecies are in place! Jesus said if you are not ready and watching and praying, you will be deceived by the antichrist and take the mark of the beast. We are all in this spiritual battle that is raging, and the only way we can win it is through Jesus, not in our own strength. We all stumble in many ways, but we can and will be victorious over our struggles through the holy name of Jesus Christ!
My song Battleground is a call to action for believers to stay vigilant in this evil day we live in, because our enemy Satan stalks as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Our strength is in God alone. Because of all my many mistakes and struggles, I do not feel worthy to even sing this song, but God has put it on my heart and I have to do what He has told me to do. I am so weak, but He is so strong! He brings the victory, and all glory and honor belongs to Him!

You can't win a war you don't realize you're in, so it's important to remind yourself daily that these struggles are spiritual warfare, and the way we win our battles is on our knees!
